We have an an exciting opportunity for aqualified, experienced, outgoing and creative librarian/information specialist who wants to make their mark working in MSE Healthcare Libraries, the library and knowledge service (LKS) for one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the country.

Based at Basildon Healthcare Library in Basildon, working closely with services based at Broomfield and Southend. As one of the Evidence Specialists in the MSE library team you will be expected to work collaboratively to develop a consistent high-quality service across all three sites. There will be the opportunity to work from home on a regular basis.

Our services support evidence-based practice, clinical and managerial decision making and patient safety and wellbeing for NHS and Social Care staff across all sectors thus facilitating high quality patient care throughout the Trust and the wider healthcare community.

The library has contracts to provide services to Essex Partnership University Foundation Trust (EPUT), a community and mental health services Trust and Provide CIC, a Community Interest Company You may need to travel to their sites as necessary to promote services and deliver information skills training.

You will work as clinical evidence outreach specialist alongside designated teams and departments providing highly specific, patient centred, evidence-based information at the point of need.

Using expert knowledge of online searching you will provide comprehensive literature searches for members of the clinical teams and other library users on request.

You will be a key advocate for the library and its importance to evidence-based practice and patient care. An essential aspect of the role will be to build positive relationships at all levels of the organisation, with all uthose who need access to high quality evidence-based resources.

They will promote national, regional and local library and knowledge services and resources to all staff by a variety of means including, but not exclusive to, attending relevant meetings and producing/ disseminating promotional material in various formats.
