We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of the team.

You will be responsible for supporting the Equality Diversity and Inclusion team to drive forward the diversity agenda, ensuring that statutory obligations are met and that a culture of respecting people is developed and maintained.

The role will be to support the Equality and Diversity team in its development and implementation of the Trust’s Equality and Diversity Strategy and its employment and service equality governance structure including monitoring and reporting on progress on the Group’s equality objectives, engaging with people from different protected characteristics and ensuring the Group has systems, policies and practices that are compliant with legislative and NHS Regulation.

You will support the organisation in meeting and surpassing the statutory duties in respect of equality, diversity and human rights. To work closely with the Head of Inclusion and Engagement to develop and integrate the Equality Diversity and Human Rights Agenda throughout the Trust. To develop and maintain an effective equality analysis process for the Trust. To provide advice, training and support to the organisation in relation to equality and diversity matters. The post holder may be expected to travel to all sites as required.
- To support the Trust’s equality and diversity strategy, taking account of national initiatives and local plans and objectives.
- To support the Head of Inclusion and Engagement to enable the Trust to meet all of the requirements of relevant Equality and Diversity legislation and complying with the Department of Health and all required management assurance frameworks to address equality issues through the provision of administrative support.
- Recognise, assess and manage Equality and Diversity tasks across the immediate working environment and take appropriate action in consultation with the Equality and Diversity Manager and EDI team whenever necessary to ensure statutory requirements are met.
- Be competent and confident at challenging poor Equality and Diversity practice. Work with Equality and Diversity Manager to Provide information for reports for Board, demonstrating compliance with statutory regulation, contract requirements and progress towards meeting Public Sector Equality Duty, EDS2, WRES and other reporting requirements implemented in forthcoming years.
- To facilitate the positive development of a Group culture that fully embraces equality and diversity.
- To work towards the Trust becoming an exemplar site for equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Produce accurate minutes of meetings and slides (or other mediums) for information purposes on a regular basis.
