An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen within the Medical Workforce Advisory Service at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. We are seeking a friendly, confident and enthusiastic person to join the Medical Workforce Advisory Service (MWAS) as a Band 3 Administrator.

The role of the MWAS Administrator is required to provide comprehensive and robust administrative support to the team. This will require strong organisational, planning, record keeping and communication skills with the ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels. Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office packages, in particular Excel, is essential to the role.

We recommend that all individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Assist with all aspects of medical appraisal and revalidation administration to enable doctors GMC revalidation recommendation.
- Act as the Trust Administrator of the L2P Appraisal system, providing support to individual doctors and ensuring that all data is accurate.
- Work with individual doctors to facilitate the distribution and collection of patient feedback questionnaires as part of each doctor’s 5-year revalidation cycle.
- Prepare Revalidation documentation for the Trust’s Clinical Revalidation Lead for each doctor in preparation for GMC recommendation.
- Preparation of generic work schedules under the supervision of the Medical Effectiveness Manager prior to national contractual deadlines and ensure a full suite of accurate schedules are kept and remain accessible.
- To support Formal Junior Doctor Forum meetings, including drafting agendas, ensuring availability of data, minute taking and preparation of action plans as appropriate and booking rooms.

The Medical Workforce Advisory Service (MWAS), part of Medical Staffing in the Workforce Services Team, is responsible for the delivery of an efficient and professional personnel service for doctors and dentists employed by the Trust as well as junior doctors in training employed as part of the lead employer arrangement who are hosted by the Trust.

The post of MWAS Administrator requires a broad range of both general administrative and a basic level knowledge of Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions, technical Medical Workforce knowledge and the 2016 Junior Doctor contract.

You will be an enthusiastic and forward-thinking self-starter with the desire to develop and drive forward both the service and the wider demands of the developing team. Although we are a small, hard-working team, we are friendly, inclusive and actively encourage staff to put forward ideas to improve our service and the working environment.

The post is full-time for 37.5 hours per week. Our office hours span 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday and you will be working to a rota of early/late shifts which are agreed in advance within the team.
