**Job description**:
As Project Support Officer you will be supporting the delivery of the Shared Services Implementation and Performance Team projects, ensuring they deliver the desired outcomes and bring measurable process and system improvement to Shared Services provision. The role holder will work across the Department with multiple stakeholders and functions.

You will report to the Project Planner, working alongside function leads and business units to ensure a successful transition and adoption of new products and ways of working.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to use their knowledge and experience of supporting a transformational programme that will assist Department for Transport (DfT) Group to transition to a new shared service provision from HMRC.

These skills / qualifications are required for this role. If applicants do not have these already, a commitment to complete them is required once they are in the role. All Continued Professional Development will be funded by DfTc.
- APM Project Fundamentals or equivalent or commitment to complete when in role.
- Internal Government Project Management qualifications covering business cases, delivery, managing risks.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- To be responsible supporting the work of the Strategic PMO.
- To support the delivery of SSIPT initiatives/changes and develop all requirements into future design.
- To collaborate with cross functional teams
- To support complex systems requirements gathering, configuration, validation, reconciliation and testing as appropriate
- To coordinate and deliver design review meetings with team and stakeholder groups.

**About you**:
We are looking for someone who has exceptional communication skills and can express themselves in a confident and concise manner with colleagues at all levels. You will represent the department both professionally and clearly, ensuring key messages are delivered to both internal and external stakeholders in a timely fashion.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent analytical and technical skills to translate and analyse business needs into requirements driving change and value-added solutions.

This is a demanding role and can be challenging, therefore you will have the ability to stay calm, quickly adjust to ever changing circumstances, and balance the demands of existing business as usual process with the demands of the change projects. You will be a strong advocate for change and continuous improvement. You will have strong stakeholder experience and the ability to influence across all grades.

**Additional Information**:
DfT supports Hybrid working. You will be expected to do a minimum of 40% of your time in the Office. Currently, for Swansea staff the expectation is a minimum of 20%. This will increase with the move to a permanent office when the minimum of 40% will be implemented’. There could be a requirement for travelling to meetings and other places of work as and when required, sometimes at short notice. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
