We are seeking a self-motivated individual with experience of providing a high level of customer service and supervising the work of others to help us deliver an excellent experience for all LIS customers.

Learning and Information Services (LIS) offers a wide range of library and IT services, facilities and resources that are essential to academic life.

The LIS Customer Services team provides dedicated professional front line support for students’, staff and researchers’ in-person enquiries at helpdesks located in library and learning centres at University of Chester campuses based in Chester (Exton Park, Kingsway Wheeler & Queens Park), Birkenhead, Warrington and Shrewsbury and via virtual helpdesk services (using a helpdesk ticketing platform).

The Customer Services team also manages access to book collections (lending and returns services); laptop and equipment loans; PC spaces; printing, scanning and copying facilities and the development of well-equipped individual and group study spaces.

We are expanding and developing our approach to providing excellent customer service and wish to appoint a Customer Services Team Leader to help us achieve this. This diverse role will work with LIS Operational Leads to manage and enhance provision at helpdesks and within our spaces with a particular focus on developing weekend and evening services.

The Team Leader will support and develop a team of Customer Service Assistants and student assistants to deliver day to day operations and respond to enquiries, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for members of the University.

The postholder will work across **Marriss House University Centre Birkenhead (UCB), Kingsway Campus **and **Seaborne Exton Park, Chester libraries.**

**HOURS OF WORK**

36.5 hours per week to be worked as follows:
Sunday 11:45am - 6:15pm

Monday - Tuesday 9:00am - 5:30pm (less 1 hour for lunch)

Wednesday 12:30pm - 8:00pm (less ½ an hour for lunch)

Thursday 9:00am - 5.30pm (less ½ an hour for lunch)

We offer an interesting and stimulating working environment with good opportunities for training and development. The posts involve evening and weekend working as detailed in the job description. This is on a rota basis with colleagues and there is likely to be some flexibility around days and hours of work.
