We have an exciting opportunity for a Caseworker to join the Victim Support Multi-Crime Team based in Bristol working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role is for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

**About the role**:
This role is hybrid working between our office in Fishponds and home (and therefore requires an appropriately confidential home space in which to work), with travel around the locality to meet with service users.

As a Caseworker you will:

- Effectively manage a caseload of self-referrals or referred service users, delivering excellent services which support the commissioners and their service goals to victims.
- Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
- Undertake risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the client in line with VS operating procedures. You will also follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records, complying with data protection and all other legislation connected to your work and sharing protocols where necessary. Contribute to monitoring information as required by Victim Support.
- Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice. This could include criminal, legal and if relevant, civil remedies to service users.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships, and promote effective communication between staff and other stakeholders.

You will need:

- Experience of undertaking risk and needs assessments with vulnerable individuals
- To be highly organised and have experience in managing a caseload efficiently
- The ability to communicate sensitively and effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people
- The ability to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands, needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner
- Sound IT experience, with the ability to use a range of software particularly Word & Excel, databases and Case Management systems.
- To uphold and promote the values of Victim Support and treat colleagues and service users in a fair and non-discriminatory way
