This is a great opportunity to join our General Services UK (GSUK) Commercial team as the Head of Contracts, leading a team of purchasing specialists to deliver Scottish Power wide contracts across Scotland, England and Wales. You will be responsible for leading a team of experts to define contracting strategies and plans, tendering, negotiating, and managing multi-million contracts for multiple customers and stakeholders, balancing conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with our supply chain and maintain effective relationships with the major suppliers and contractors to deliver against our business strategy, whilst negotiating and advising on agreements to ensure a continued focus remains on best value, business needs, and our statutory compliance requirements.
- What you’ll be doing_
- Day to day you will be leading a team of contract management and QS experts to define contracting strategies and plans, tender, negotiate and manage multi-million-pound capex and service delivery contracts across a +£200m portfolio
- You will effectively drive world class commercial and contractual management identifying and implementing change where required
- You will establish and manage stakeholder relationships across Senior Scottish Power and Iberdrola Executives
- You will use your experience and expertise to advise on prevention and resolution of any contractual issues and claims
- You will advise on negotiations and agreements to ensure a continued focus remains on best value, business needs, and our statutory compliance requirements
- You will manage our contractual risk, looking forward and making decisions to ensure we mitigate appropriately
- You will lead and develop a Contract Management Team ensuring that your team develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and capacity to mitigate commercial, legal, and regulatory risks to the businesses
- What you’ll bring_
- We’ll look for you to have previous experience of delivering contracts through a competitive tender process
- You should have a detailed understanding of contract management process including experience in completion of tender specification documents and tender assessment for large scale commercial contract in excess of £4m
- We would look for you to be educated to degree level in Financial, Procurement, Law, Business Management or Contract Management discipline or equivalent experience underpinned by an understanding of Contract Law, Data Protection legislation, IFRS16 accounting standards, TUPE legislation and other laws relevant to your day to day
