Blue Arrow are proudly recruiting for 2 Vehicle Maintenance Control Assistants on behalf of a well established national company based in Oldbury.

Role Title: Vehicle Maintenance Control Assistant x 2

Pay rate: £14.38 per hour

Hours: 36 per week (mainly Monday to Friday, uplift on pay rate for any weekend work)

Shifts: Between 7:45am-9:30pm on a 28 day rotation

Work style: Office based full time (Oldbury)

Start date: ASAP

Contract length: 3 months

**Job Description**:
This role is required to proactively maintain compliance according to legislation and regulations and optimise vehicle and patrol availability for the Recovery business through effective daily planning and management of the available resources.

Handling related calls (inbound/outbound) with managers, patrols and suppliers working to challenging deadlines in a busy operational environment.

**Responsibilities**:
1. To analyse, populate and maintain systems / databases following set processes within the Recovery Operation Logistics recording all legislative areas of fleet vehicle maintenance and driver's movements in line with a commercial transport operation

2. Live time motoring of driver's hours to prevent legislation breaches of Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations and EU Drivers Hours and vehicle operation regulations.

3. Enable visibility of vehicles and people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the Recovery Business

4. Assist with daily downtime management and control repairs progress with suppliers. Daily downtime monitoring and escalation. In accordance with set KPI and timescales.

5. Maintain a detailed understanding of all aspects of legislation as it affects the recovery business

6. Complete daily vehicle compliance checks

7. Assist the Vehicle Maintenance controllers in returning vehicles back to operation to enable resource planning.

8. Liaise with Fleet and Maintenance Service Provider departments with regards to vehicle locations, drivers, vehicle records and relevant documentation i.e. MOT Certificates and Servicing Records.

9. Support the team with all administration and paperwork, including, post outs, booking rooms, courses, communications etc.

10. Meet or exceed budgets and KPI's set by business for performance.

Ensure Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is embedded in the culture of the company to deliver the six customer outcomes of right culture, right information, right delivery, right targeting, right advice, and right post sales treatment.

The Individual:
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

- Previous experience of a transport office environment is essential.
- Proven experience in managing conflict and changing priorities
- Good PC skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages and administration
- Awareness of the clients road operations, policies and procedures
- Have a working knowledge of all current legislation and any forth coming legislative changes to ensure continuing compliance with Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations and EU Drivers Hours & vehicle maintenance regulations as monitored by DVSA (Vehicle & Operator Services Agency).
- Previous administration experience.
- Specific technical mechanical knowledge is preferable.

Education and Qualifications:

- PC skills - acquired intermediate level and current regular use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.
- High level of accuracy with attention to detail and the ability to use initiative to solve problems.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage own workload within laid out legislative rules.
- Self-motivation and commitment.
- Work effectively as part of a team offering support and assistance where required.
- Be flexible with in the team to cover all work streams and operational hours.
