Veterinary Receptionist

Cardiff Veterinary Centre, an independent clinic is looking for a receptionist to join our team and provide high-quality customer service to our clients.
As our receptionist, you will provide friendly, welcoming and efficient customer service to our clients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience.
This is a permanent, full-time role on a rota covering weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays. The general working pattern for Receptionists is to be 4 **days per week from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm, along with 1 in 2 Saturdays from 8.30 am to 1pm.**
Due to the nature of the work of Cardiff Vet Centre, it may be necessary to exceed these hours when the workload demands.
**Must Haves**:
- An understanding of IT functions (Word, Outlook, Excel) and social media
- A good standard of secondary education including English and Mathematics at GCSE level or equivalent
- Experience of dealing and interacting with a wide variety of the general public and their enquiries, both face-to-face and over the phone
- Administer cash, credit card and cheque payments from clients
- Deal with clients in a professional, sensitive and empathetic manner at all times
- Acting as the link between our clients and the Clinical Team, providing clear and accurate information between the two.
- Making / changing appointments using our bespoke business management system
- Registering new clients
- Updating Client Details
- Inputting results on client’s records
- Printing invoices
- Converting clinical telephone queries to appointments.
- Manage client’s minor complaints and escalating others to higher management
- Filing, Faxing, Copying and general administration.
- Cleaning Reception, stocking up and cleaning consults rooms
- Cleaning staff area based on a rota system
- Communicating with other surgeries.

**Education**:

- Veterinary experience: 1 year (preferred)

- RCVS (preferred)
