Having experienced a period of sustained growth, Moneyboat.co.uk is now expanding its Compliance Function with the addition of a dedicated Senior Compliance Monitoring Officer (SCMO), ensuring that the next phase of its growth continues to be supported by robust internal controls and compliant business practices.

**Job Summary**
- Reporting directly to the Senior Compliance Manager, the SCMO is responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s Compliance Monitoring Programme.
- Ensuring that Compliance risks are adequately identified, assessed, monitored, controlled and reported as required.
- Providing independent assurance that MoneyBoat is meeting its regulatory obligations and has appropriate controls in place to reasonably mitigate compliance risk in respect of all relevant legislation, rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
- Assisting the Compliance function in providing expert regulatory support, guidance and oversight across MonetBoat.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Supporting with developing and delivering a risk-based monitoring and testing service that is aligned with the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan.
- Assisting with the delivery of the annual Compliance Monitoring plan through a combination of (desk based, thematic and deep dive) business unit and focused monitoring reviews.
- Assisting with creating and developing monitoring scorecards and methodology.
- Working with First and Second Line of Defence functions to ensure compliance risks are adequately identified, assessed, monitored, controlled and reported and that adequate and effective compliance risk management procedures are in operation across MoneyBoat.
- Devise monthly reporting to present the findings from reviews and agreeing remedial actions and improvement plans with stakeholders to ensure timely remediation of findings.
- Supporting with providing accurate and timely updates on monitoring activity and ensuring that appropriate metrics are developed and reported upon to the Senior Leadership Team on an ongoing and periodic basis.
- Working collaboratively with business functions to ensure consistency of good practice principles and promote the delivery of good customer outcomes.
- Ensuring work is completed to a high standard of delivery and accuracy

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Strong compliance monitoring experience, ideally gained from within a start-up consumer credit business, or demonstrable experience working within a Compliance, Risk or Internal Audit function within financial services.
- Experience of developing and executing monitoring and assurance plans.
- Experience in creating and developing monitoring scorecards and methodology.
- Good understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance issues facing the retail lending sector, including but not limited to the FCA Handbook (i.e. PRIN, COND, CONC, SYSC, DISP), Consumer Credit Act, GDPR, Treating Customers Fairly, Conduct Rules, Consumer Duty and Financial Crime.
- Confident and articulate communicator, both written and verbal.
- Ability to act on own initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Organised, methodical, diligent and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

**Working Conditions**
- Full time.
- Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00.
- Hybrid role working remotely and from the London office.
- Depending on workload and Compliance function commitments, from time to time, some flexibility may be required to ensure the proper and effective performance of duties.
