**Role Purpose**:
Undertake research to identify threat, harm and risk issues to the standards as defined within the National Intelligence Model and in accordance with Force priorities.

Undertake research using a wide variety of sources to assess and evaluate information and inform the creation of intelligence products to support decision making at a strategic, tactical and/or operational level. Support administration and collation of T&C (Tasking & Co-ordination) at all levels (strategic & tactical; Force, District and departmental) including clerical support to Analyst Management team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Undertake research methodologies to produce intelligence and/or inform analytical products,

including collecting, collating, and evaluating information from a wide variety of sources at a strategic, tactical and/or operational level.
- Provide research support to the Analytical function and wider Intelligence unit on an ongoing basis to help ensure emerging issues, trends and patterns are identified and current issues are monitored.
- Obtain information from a wide variety of sources, exploiting all appropriate systems and products, including relevant databases and research methodologies to conduct research at a strategic, tactical and/or operational level.
- Prepare and deliver research summaries and findings, such as presentations and reports, to inform clearly and accurately decision-making and/or facilitate analysis.
- Maintain awareness and contribute to achieving the aims of the Force Control Strategy and Force
- Intelligence Requirements and all other National Intelligence Model processes in Force.
- Receive and initiate communication in connection with requests for information, liaising with external and internal sources in order to facilitate the collection and sharing of data ensuring that all information exchanged is accurate and relevant and in line with relevant legislation and policy.
- Attend and present at relevant meetings in order to ensure effective dissemination of research.
- Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and partners, such as liaising with other agencies in order to support information sharing and collaborative working.
- Support the identification and development of new sources and methods of research to ensure that intelligence products reflect latest techniques and tactics, best practice, and information relevant to the role.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a manual of best practice for research processes.
- Adhere to all legal frameworks, key working principles, policies, and guidance relevant to the role.
- Prepare statements of evidence for court and attend court as a witness if required to assist in the
- criminal justice process.
- Perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are
- commensurate with its level of responsibility.
- Assessed competence against the professional standards for the function including IPP certification
- and maintenance.
- Ability to travel within and outside of the Force area.
