Centre Support Administrator Apprenticeship

Administrative support for the day to day running of the community centre across two areas of business activity. This includes coordinating room hire enquiries within the building and marketing duties including social media and the website.
The Exeter Community Centre hires its rooms out on a sessional basis to a wide range of community organisations.
This post is to provide administrative support across these two areas of business activity
1 to welcome and direct room hire customers within the building, perform room setups and manage room bookings.
2 Support the marketing of the centre via social media and website.
- To assist on the delivery and further development of the ECCT Marketing and Communications Strategy
- Build on our use of social media; Twitter, Instagram, Facebook
- To assist with the design of marketing and promotional materials such as video clips, leaflets, posters & flyers in line with our branding guidelines. -Assist in the writing and distributing of our newsletter -Attend and take minutes for marketing meetings
- To support our heritage events
- To assist with the general administration of the marketing department
- Other duties:
- To answer/deal with queries, both face to face and via the telephone, take messages and pass them on to the relevant member of staff in an appropriate and timely manner
- To meet and greet centre users as required
- To setup rooms with tables and chairs for centre room hires including cleaning/wiping tables/chairs and occasional floor hoovering
- To be a flexible and supportive member of the team Attend and take part in team meetings
- Data input, data extraction, photocopying, filing and other administrative duties
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested Ensure that the equality & diversity policies of ECCT are incorporated into all aspects of the post-holder’s work
Hours: 30.00 per week
About the employer:
In 2003 the local community put the centre at the heart of its 'Vision for St David's' when it learned that the building would be closed and sold to developers. After lengthy negotiation over many years Devon County Council agreed to transfer the building to the community. However this was conditional on the community raising £1.6 million of backlog maintenance to refurbish the ageing building. The St Davids Neighbourhood Partnership were unlucky 'runners up' in a number of major funding bids. It finally became successful in 2010 with grant and loan funding from the Community Builders programme, run by the Social Investment Business - a central government agency.

As the centre returns to full use after the pandemic and the newly refurbished top floor is fully utilised we anticipate a need for a further administrative staff resource.
Training Provided:
Training on the job and 1 day at College per week
Additional Information:
30 hours in the office + 1 College day
GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above
