Our well-established client is a leading and innovative company in the construction industry. The company takes pride in delivering exceptional service and products to their clients and have a dynamic team that works closely together to achieve their goals.

**Job Overview**:
As a Purchaser, you will play a vital role in the smooth functioning of the procurement process. Your primary responsibility will be to source and purchase materials and supplies required for projects at the best possible prices without compromising on quality. You will work closely with the project management team and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and maintain adequate inventory levels. This is a full-time position with regular working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

(Stock control experience is essential)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Procurement Management: Source and purchase materials, tools, and equipment required for projects.
- Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify potential new suppliers to ensure a diverse and reliable supply chain.
- Price Negotiation: Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to obtain the best deals while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all procured materials meet the company's quality standards and comply with relevant regulations.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and ensure that materials are available when needed to avoid delays in project time lines.
- Order Processing: Generate purchase orders and accurately input details into the procurement system.
- Cost Analysis: Analyse costs and identify cost-saving opportunities within the procurement process.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the project management team and other departments to understand project requirements and coordinate material deliveries accordingly.
- Market Research: Keep abreast of market trends and developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Purchaser or in a similar procurement role within the construction or related industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
