Assistant Stock Controller and Purchaser

Riverside Works have been designing and manufacturing bespoke commercial awnings and canopies for shops, restaurants, bars and hotels for over 60 years in our London Thameside workshop. Over that time, we have gained a reputation for outstanding quality, expertise and professionalism and our awnings can be seen in iconic shops, restaurants, hotels, flagship stores, bars and pubs across the UK.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced **Assistant Stock Controller and Purchaser **to join our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Establishing and maintaining a high-level of stock accuracy for the factory.
- Inventory Monitoring**: Assist in monitoring inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without overstocking. Conduct periodic stock checks and audits.
- Being responsible for all stock orders, goods in, returned goods and stock movements.
- Assisting the Production Manager with maintaining the stock take process.
- Liaising with suppliers and engineers in relation to stock and consumables.
- Monitoring paperwork to ensure all systems, procedures, and stock is in accordance with the production requirements and those of our business. This includes creating new products in the stock management system.
- Identifying any products, services, and equipment to be purchased.
- Establishing quality control and ensuring that bought stock meets company standards.
- Compiling and maintaining purchase records, supplier databases and procurement.
- Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory status and purchasing activities for management review.
- Managing supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluation & issue resolution.
- Managing and reviewing all stock control and purchasing procedures. Advising management of any improvements possible.
- Maintenance planning, tracking, and optimization of factory equipment/machinery
- Other administrative tasks to support the production.

**Experience**
- Previous stock control, inventory management and purchasing experience are essential.
- Proven history of ensuring best value when purchasing from supply chain
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills are important.
- Must have experience working on KPIs & objectives.
- Shown ability to exercise good time management and task prioritisation.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
