Brook Street are seeking to recruit a **Higher Executive Officer (HEO)** for our Public Sector client.
This is a full-time, **temporary role for 3 months** with the possibility of extension.
Salary**:£18.34 per hour**, paid on a weekly basis.
This role is a hybrid role. You will be expected to attend the South West London office 2 days per week.
As a **Payroll and Financial Governance manager**, you will assist with management of payroll and expenses processes, financial governance and contribute to interim/year-end audits. Your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
? Receiving spreadsheets from different payroll organisations.
? Posting of payroll journals to the accounting system.
? Preparing bank transfer requests to ensure sufficient balances in relevant payroll bank account for outgoing payroll payments.
? Circulating excerpts of data.
? Process third party payments.
? Calculate monthly staff accruals.
? Prepare invoices for payroll costs to be reimbursed.
? Setting up a small number of purchase orders for invoiced staff costs and processing invoices for payment.
? Monthly meetings with HR to discuss payroll issues and staff numbers for various returns.
? Preparation of Wages and Salaries reconciliations.
? Preparation of bank reconciliations for 2 payroll bank accounts.
? Preparation of payroll balance sheet control account reconciliations.
**You will need to pass a DBS clearance and provide 3 years of referencing to be successful for this role.**
**Required Skills and Experience**:
? Demonstrable experience of using financial software in a similar finance officer role (e.g. to post journals, raise purchase orders, run general ledger transaction enquiries etc).
? Accounting technician qualification or equivalent.
? Demonstrable experience in use of MS Excel (sorting data, updating pivot tables, ability to follow already set up vlookups).
? Demonstrable experience of preparing bank or other balance sheet reconciliations.
? Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
? Excellent time management skills.
? Comfortable working independently and able to manage own workload and use initiative to identify priorities.
