**Job type**:Full-time. 11-month fixed term contract - with a view to extend. 2 roles available.

**About us**:
Support North Northants (SNN) is a collaborative service model, led by the voluntary sector, that can support people for a post-Covid world where people can have access to integrated and preventative services. This will help to reduce pressures on statutory services and develop higher levels of community resilience.

We are putting transformation in practice and embarking on an exciting new way of working between partners. Led by the North Northants voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, we are working with the Integrated Care Service (ICS) to transform how services are delivered.

**About the role**:

- ** Deliver a professional, impartial, pragmatic and outcome focussed advice service to beneficiaries whilst working to Accommodation Concern Quality Standards, Policies and Procedures and Regulatory Requirements.**:

- ** To provide advice/case work on Welfare Benefit issues to ensure income maximisation is achieved for beneficiaries. Collaborating with other local specialist agencies for expertise when required within the model requirements.**:

- ** To provide Benefits and casework support having regard for relevant legislation, meeting the requirements of the Advice Service Alliance Standard for advice case work relating to Debt, Welfare Benefits, and Housing.**

**Main responsibilities**:

- To support people presenting to the Support North Northants service with benefits advice and casework service for Support North Northants clients which conforms to the Advice Quality Standard & FCA.
- Advise, assist and support clients who could benefit from welfare benefit advice in accordance with agreed procedures, policies and good practice.
- Provide support and advice with form completion and/or challenging decisions (mandatory reconsideration)
- Provide representation for clients by preparing and presenting cases at benefit appeal hearings.
- Agree client needs and identify desired outcomes/actions.
- Refer to / Liaise with the Community Money Advice (CMA) Debt Centre, which may include money management, budgeting and debt solutions.
- General level advocacy and negotiation on behalf of client to other agencies/ authorities.
- Initial contact/referral with other agencies to help coordinate services.
- Writing/setting case outcome in line with S.M.A.R.T Principles.
- Work in accordance with the AQS operating model for casework management
- To prepare statistical reports, written reports, case studies and any other feedback relevant to the service.

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths
- Relevant IT experience/IT qualification/Level 2 IT qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of working with individuals facing poverty and/or with dysfunctional lifestyles
- Experience of giving advice/guidance
- Certificated course or qualifications in advice/debt/housing/benefits is desirable
- Desirable to have experience with one or more of the following: Housing and homelessness services, Debt services, Advice services, Anti-poverty services and the voluntary sector experience.

**Skills and attributes**:

- Ability to work with multiagency colleagues
- Knowledge and abilities in using Microsoft Office Packages
- Knowledge of money advice issues, quality of advice, and FCA regulatory requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues which affect the lives of disadvantaged adults
- Ability to understand complex information and convey it in a way that is understandable to service users
- Ability to engage, build and develop relationships with adults who are; living in poverty; disadvantaged; homeless; and or ex-offenders
- Ability to prioritise tasks, identify and work to deadlines and manage time effectively
