**Your new organisation**
Key responsibilities include:
To lead a specific strategic sourcing programme for defined categories and provide effective management of the procurement portfolios. The post will deliver a service that facilitates delivery of products and services on time and at the lowest ultimate costwhilst maintaining the highest level of probity, legislative and corporate compliance, and supports delivery of patient care to the highest standard. Main duties of the job:
- Identifying, reporting, and delivering opportunities for savings and cost reduction
- Optimising the organisations commercial position through effective contracting and negotiation
- Providing advice and guidance on risk management related to contracting and procurement
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to develop strong relationships
- Promoting effective supplier relationship management
- Developing a category management approach to an assigned area of responsibility
**What you'll need to succeed**
- To have specialist knowledge, evidenced by being qualified in procurement (MCIPS)
- Have substantial practical experience in a public sector procurement/contracting/supply chain environment.
- Experience in public procurement, including knowledge FTS (previously known as OJEU) requirements
- Track record of delivering cash releasing savings and experience of negotiating commercial contract
