Finance Assistant

JHE & Partners are delighted to be working with a well-established and prestigious business in Bradford who are looking for a finance assistant on a permanent basis. Working in a small team of four and reporting into the finance manager, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional to join a lovely, close-knit team.
This is a varied role covering all areas of transactional finance and assisting with month-end management account duties. You will have exceptional time management skills and have proven ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. You will be a key player in the team working closely with the finance manager.
Duties include:
- Preparing budget summaries for budget holders and discussing any queries or differences.
- Assisting the finance manager to ensure that budget holders spend within budgetary guidelines.
- Preparing monthly reconciliations of key nominal ledger control accounts - payroll, pension, suspense, purchase ledger, PAYE / NIC.
- Assist the finance manager with preparation of management accounts and with the year end audit.
- Performing monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
- Providing account updates to budget holders as necessary.
- Completing quarterly VAT returns.
- Purchase Ledger
- Credit Control
- Dealing with queries from stakeholders, as necessary.
- Assisting other staff within the department with departmental tasks, as necessary.
- Undertaking other duties as may be requested from time to time
This is a full time position based 100% onsite. Hours of work are 37 hours per week, 23 days holiday with free parking. Salary paying £26,000.
