Procurement Specialist

**The Opportunity**
This is an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist who is passionate about providing an excellent purchasing service to join the Supply Chain team at this manufacturing operation based in the Lake District.
You will procure and manage the supply of materials, goods and services that are cost effective to meet the needs of a growing business. This includes responsibility for negotiation, supplier and contract management and inventory controls.
**You will be responsible for;**
- Procuring and ensuring continuing availability of quality materials, goods, and services using sustainable and responsible sourcing practices.
- Overseeing effective management of supplier relationships, negotiating with them for the best price, quantities, and delivery timescales.
- Managing requisitions and providing regular updates to management regarding order statuses.
- Controls and optimises inventories, managing stock levels and re-order points.
- Accurate processing of import documentation to ensure compliance with HMRC, including management of special procedures (IPR).
- Arranging the transportation of goods and diligently tracking orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Lead strategic projects relating to procurement activities
- Analysing target market dynamics and trends to facilitate informed purchasing decisions.
- Monitoring stock quality and promptly reporting any discrepancies to suppliers and management.

- Professional qualification, Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), or equivalent.
- A skilled negotiator with strong planning and organisational skills.
- Strong numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills..
- Understanding of purchasing processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant compliance requirements.
- Ability to work with others, comfort in taking and giving direction with peers where necessary to achieve operational goals.
