Senior Administrator

The University is looking for an accomplished administrator to support the University's governance and due diligence processes. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a range of colleagues across the University, including the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellors and Senior Officers, and with exposure to key areas of business in a world-leading University.
Based within the Governance and Compliance Division, your role will sit within the governance team. You will provide high-level support for the University's Committee on Benefactions and External and Legal Affairs (CBELA), which scrutinises engagements between the University and external parties in relation to reputational risk. You will work closely with the Senior Governance Manager, to help manage the committee's business, prepare its papers (including some drafting work), and brief its chair and other senior colleagues.
You will undertake a range of governance projects within the Division, including the development and implementation of University-wide policies and other governance documents supporting the University's operations; and the management of strategic project work (such as reviews). You will work with colleagues throughout the Division, and, as you gain experience, you will provide expert advice on reputational risk and governance matters to senior University Officers and colleagues.
To thrive in this role, you need to be an excellent oral and written communicator, with strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise confidently with staff at all levels and to convey an authoritative view to stakeholders and gain the confidence of others over whom you have no direct responsibility. You will also need excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a brief which covers a wide range of activities. You will be educated to at least a first degree level (or equivalent), ideally with experience of HE administration.
Additional information regarding the role may be found within the further particulars via the link below.
The University of Cambridge is committed to supporting our staff to thrive both professionally and personally. We aim to support a good work/life balance, whilst retaining the positive aspects of our unique in-person environment and culture. Elements of this role are suitable for hybrid working, where staff can split their time between in-person collaboration and remote working. Most of our team work in a hybrid fashion, with an average of 2-3 days per week being office based (pro rata for part-time staff). The frequency and pattern of the remote elements of the role can be discussed with the recruiting manager.
Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the closing date.
The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
