Camhs Specialist Community Advisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a CQC 'Outstanding' Children and Young People's (CYP) IAPT Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, covering Derby City and South Derbyshire.
The Specialist Community Advisor Team provide a place based service to develop a ‘prevention and promotion’ approach for those working with children, young people and families in primary care, social care, voluntary & community sector and education.
The team work in a locality model, meaning effective networks and relationships are established in the delivery of the service.
The team work within CAMHS delivering consultation and training to professionals working with low to moderate emotional health needs.
Offering consultation for professionals to support their identification of emotional health needs/mental health difficulties, if there are concerns about young people they are working with and to explore evidence-based ways to support these young people and meet their needs.
Providing emotional health advice and signposting.
Liaison in multi-professional meetings and networking with agencies outside of CAMHS.
Strategy Planning to proactively respond to local need, engaging in joint planning to develop protocols and mental health strategies. Influencing ‘whole school approach’ to mental health prevention and early help in education for students and staff.
Offering ‘role-model’ functions in developing and initially co-facilitating groups and workshops.
The delivery of standardised training packages to other professionals/carers/schools/agencies who are supporting young people with their emotional health needs.

As a CYP IAPT Service, we endeavour to offer an accessible, evidence-based service to children and young people, that delivers the right intervention at the right time.
We use Routine Outcome Measures to evidence what we do and influence our practice.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, with post-registration experience, this would normally equate to 2 years, to join our multi-disciplinary team.
The vacancy is a full time post.
Our service offers extended hours between the days of Monday-Friday, 8.00am-8.00pm, which the post holder would be expected to contribute to.
