An opportunity has arisen to join our 'CQC outstanding' CAMHS service. We are looking for Band 5 Nurses, Social Workers or OTs who want to develop a career within CAMHS. Through robust supervision and training opportunities we will aim to develop your knowledge, skills and experience within a CYP- IAPT Service.

The newly developed Core CAMHS team works with young people with a range of mental health needs, providing intervention and review both individually and via a therapeutic group programme. The post holders will be supported to develop knowledge and skills in working systemically with children and families within our experienced multi disciplinary teams.

The Core CAMHS team is based in Derby City, offering satellite clinics across our bases.

Core CAMHS works in partnership with the CAMHS leadership team, Medical Consultants and Multi-Disciplinary Teams across the service, to ensure the highest level of clinical practice. You will be required to ensure that the best evidence-based care is given to children, young people and their families, within the resources available to the service.

CAMHS is part of the CYP-IAPT initiative and the post holder will use Routine Outcome Measures to influence and evaluate all interventions offered.

You will receive clinical and managerial supervision, and have opportunity to work with the CAMHS improving access to psychological therapies development framework. The Trust will provide an excellent preceptorship programme for newly qualified staff. CAMHS has a full time Training and Development Lead who leads a robust induction programme, ongoing CPD and is able to work with individuals to support specific needs and career development.

- To undertake specialist consultation and intervention within agreed pathways of Tier 2 and 3 CAMHS who meet service criteria with support of specialist supervision.
- To offer a range of evidence-informed interventions appropriate to the needs of children and young people, including: individual, family and group work.
- To interpret, formulate and implement care plans for formal psychological treatment and management of a range of complex mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework, and employing methods based upon evidence of proven efficacy and using an integration of theoretical frameworks to formulate practice with the support of the wider team.
- Ensure the complex mental health needs of children and young people are assessed with relevance to providing clinical assessment of developmental impacts, providing reports for CAMHS and the General Practitioner, as necessary, to ensure complex mental health needs are identified and interventions planned, in conjunction with relevant professionals and the service-user and their family with support of the wider team.
- To refer to other specialists as appropriate.
- To be available for assessments or other clinical work where circumstances deemed this to be the priority i.e. “available for action” in the event of an emergency.
- To participate in centralised duty, health hubs and internal competency framework as required.
- To engage in supervision and ensure that it is recorded in line with DHCFT policy and procedure.
