An opportunity has arisen to join the Bereavement Services team as a Bereavement Support Administrator and Chapel Attendant, and to deliver a specialist service as part of a highly customer focused team.

Your next role

The role includes processing the legal documentation required when dealing with the deceased and will also include other responsibilities such as helping members of the community and funeral directors face to face, or on the telephone, with burial and cremation questions.

The apprenticeship will provide you with the opportunity to achieve a level 3 Business Administration qualification. You will receive the training and support needed to gain the skills to ensure legal documentation is correctly received and preserved, empathetic customer service and the opportunity to help drive the future of the Bereavement Service in Swindon.

Qualifications required for this post

Entry requirements for the Level 3 Apprenticeship are:

- GCSE English and Maths at grade C (level 4) or above or equivalent qualifications
- It is desirable to hold a clean driving licence, as travel around the Borough may be required.

Knowledge & Experience
- In addition, we are also looking for people who have:
- Good IT skills, preferably with experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to work to manage own workload and work within deadlines
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to show initiative and take responsibility for the quality of their own work
- A passion for learning
- A professional approach and presentable in appearance

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
