Kirkby, United Kingdom Tradewind Recruitment Full time

**SEN Teaching Assistant**

**Full Time Position**

**£21,575+ yearly salary**

**Temporary position**

**4**th** September 2023 - 31st August 2024**

A vibrant Primary School in Kirkby, Knowsley, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to provide 1-to-1 support for a child with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This crucial role aims to create a nurturing and inclusive environment, ensuring that every child can thrive in their learning journey.

**Responsibilities**:
The selected Early Years Teaching Assistant will be responsible for delivering personalised 1-to-1 support and assistance to the assigned child with EBD during class activities. They will collaborate closely with the class teacher and other professionals to implement tailored strategies and interventions that address the child's specific needs and learning style.

Creating a positive and supportive learning environment is paramount. The Teaching Assistant will help in planning and preparing individualised learning materials and activities, all while monitoring the child's progress and behaviour. Maintaining accurate records and regularly communicating with the class teacher and parents/guardians about the child's development is essential to ensure a holistic approach to their education.

This role calls for patience, empathy, and understanding to address any challenges the child may face, as well as to help them build essential life skills. Encouraging participation in group activities and social interactions with peers will contribute to the child's increased independence and self-confidence.

Safety and well-being are of the utmost importance. The Early Years Teaching Assistant will ensure that the child remains safe throughout the school day, whether inside the classroom or during outdoor activities.

**Requirements**:
A genuine passion for working with children, especially those with EBD, along with a patient and compassionate nature, is crucial to making a positive impact in this role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be vital in building positive relationships with the child, their parents/guardians, and the wider school community.

Applicants should possess a proactive and flexible approach to adapt teaching strategies to meet the child's changing needs. A good understanding of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and the ability to implement various behavioural strategies effectively are valuable assets.

All applicants must undergo enhanced DBS clearance and other relevant safeguarding checks before starting in the role.
