This rewarding position will involve working with children and young people aged 3-19 who have a range of learning difficulties, including severe and complex needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students with special needs and committed to promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment. You'll work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support, helping students to achieve their full potential both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the class teacher in the planning and delivery of adapted lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN. Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with complex needs, helping them engage in learning activities and develop key life skills. Assisting in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans. Offering personal care and emotional support to students, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times. Supporting students during sensory activities, physical education sessions, and therapeutic interventions. Promoting independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction among pupils. Working closely with other staff members, including therapists and external professionals, to ensure holistic support for each student. Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN) is essential. A compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting students with a range of learning difficulties. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A relevant SEN or Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3) is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of safeguarding policies and a commitment to promoting the welfare of vulnerable children. Ability to assist with personal care and physical needs of students as required.
