The post holder will be part of the Waiting List team and will be responsible for the day to day compiling of waiting lists, the co-ordination of scheduling patients and the effective utilisation of theatre lists. To ensure this is appropriately managed this will require processing of complex and sensitive information. The post holder will be required to manage waiting lists ensuring compliance with local and national targets and the Trust’s Patient Access Policy. The coordinator is responsible for the administrative role within the patient’s pathway from the decision to treat electively to the date of admission.

To ensure that information listed on the waiting list forms is entered onto the Patient Administration System (PAS) in an accurate and timely manner in accordance to the local AGN. Establish and maintain an efficient retrieval and filing system in order that patient information is accessible at all times.

To ensure that clinical procedure codes assigned are an accurate translation of the diagnostic and/or procedure information noted on the waiting list form by the clinicians paying particular attention to accuracy in relation to the proposed site and operating time.
