We are looking for someone with strong administration skills and a customer service focus to join the Direct Payment Administration Team here at Norfolk County Council in an Assistant role, and help us in the delivery of a critical service to users. The Direct Payment Administration Team are the backbone to Direct Payments and 4000 Prepaid Bank Accounts. We create online bank accounts and provide ongoing governance for direct payment and non-direct payment clients across both Adults and Children's Services, liaising with FES Finance Teams, Direct Payment Support Services Teams, Adult and CWD Social Care staff, and other internal/external support organisations.

As a Direct Payment Administration Assistant you will be required to create client prepaid bank accounts via an online portal and complete reconciliations of the bank accounts. You'll need to evidence how the direct payment funds have been spent in accordance with the Adult Social Care Plan and in line with the Direct Payments Terms and Conditions. And you'll recover any unspent and/or inappropriately spent direct payment funds. Other duties will include investigation of discrepancies identified as part of the monitoring process, raising invoices to request payment to Norfolk County Council, and telephone and written correspondence with our Service Users and Clients using prepaid accounts.

In addition to the PFS-EML Prepaid Bank account system, you will also have access to Norfolk County Council's care and financial systems. Full training will be provided giving you a good understanding of Direct Payments, finance practices and Norfolk County Council services, making the role an excellent introduction to working in either Public Sector Finance or Care and administration roles.

To be considered, you'll need experience working in an administration role or similar, ideally involving financial administration, along with strong organisation and communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
