**Housing Options Officer**

Starting salary up to £34629 per annum

**3 Year Fixed Term Contract**

**Based at King’s Court Council Office**

Do you want to help the people of west Norfolk resolve their housing problems? If you have excellent communication skills and a creative and practical approach to problem solving, we have the perfect opportunity to join our Housing Options Team

You will respond to enquiries from people in often complex and difficult situations providing them with high quality housing advice that will help them to access the services they need to prevent homelessness. You will Investigate and assess people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness in accordance with the relevant legislation. You will examine and report on factors which lead to housing needs and assist with innovative solutions to the housing problems facing people today.

You must have experience in a housing or related setting with a good working knowledge of welfare benefits and eligibility criteria for social care. You will have experience of working with the public in particular vulnerable people and have a clear understanding of equality issues. The role will specialise in supporting refugee households, particularly from Ukraine and Afghanistan. Therefore, we would particularly welcome applicants with relevant language skills and strong cultural awareness skills.
