Wellbeing, Safeguarding and Social Impact Lead

Job Purpose As Wellbeing, Safeguarding and Social Impact Lead, this role is accountable for leading the strategic direction of Wellbeing, Safeguarding and Social Impact within the NHSBSA, continuing the transformation of our wellbeing, safeguarding, volunteering and fundraising strategic offerings. The post holder will bring creative and innovative ideas that are contemporary to ensure these strategies enable our people to be at their best and support retainment of colleagues at the NHSBSA, contributing to the delivery of an excellent colleague experience, and ultimately deliver the People and business strategy. The post holder will lead multi-disciplinary organisational programmes of work from start to finish that cover a wide breadth of complex areas including Wellbeing, Mental Health, Domestic Abuse, Safeguarding, Volunteering and Fundraising. They will also be accountable for leading the design and performance of highly specialist internal and external support services within these areas.
The post holder will be forward thinking, innovative, have highly developed communication and collaboration skills, and take an evidence based approach, continually driving improvement and efficiency. As part of the People Senior Management Team, they will partner with the People Team Heads of Service in the creation and delivery of short and long term people strategies, leading on all aspects of Wellbeing, Safeguarding and Social Impact (Volunteering and Fundraising). In addition to leading their own team, the Wellbeing, Safeguarding and Social Impact Lead will work collaboratively with colleagues across the People Team and will embrace a one team ethos, continually supporting team development and the achievement and delivery of the People Strategy which impacts the whole of the organisation. In this role you are accountable for: Lead the continued transformation of the organisations Wellbeing Strategy and offer, to ensure its fit for purpose in a hybrid workplace model and enables our people to be at their best, supports us to attract and retain our colleagues, and is in line with our values to ultimately deliver the People and business strategy.
Lead the development of a new strategic approach to corporate Volunteering and Fundraising, which is aligned to our other People and business strategies. Supported by the Social Impact Manager Volunteering and Fundraising, create new and innovative programmes which maximise colleague engagement and retention in a hybrid organisation and form a significant part of the organisations social impact. Oversee and lead the provision of highly specialist advice and expertise on all matters of safeguarding and ensuring that robust multi-agency arrangements are in place across the NHSBSA to enable the organisation to respond appropriately to all safeguarding concerns for the protection of vulnerable colleagues and customers of our services. Partnering with relevant Senior Management Teams to ensure this approach is embedded throughout our Customer Operations areas.
As a senior member of the People Team, partnering with the Heads of Service across the People Team to create both short and long term departmental strategies, leading on all strategic planning aspects related to wellbeing, safeguarding and social impact. This will involve leading the delivery of such plans in a timely approach, ensuring benefit realisation. Partner with the Head of Commercial and their Senior Management Team to transform the organisations approach to Social Value, which is fully embedded into due diligence and business change governance. Work in partnership with major suppliers and Digital, Data and Insight to design the approach to how we evidence our social value impact and measure supplier impact.
The post holder will ensure organisational compliance with all statutory and mandatory requirements for wellbeing, safeguarding and social impact, advising on best practice within these fields, and ensuring that robust arrangements are in place to withstand scrutiny by relevant audit or inspection bodies. This includes advising on the way forward where no precedent exists, and providing support to the Leadership Team and other senior colleagues on matters relating to future strategy implications. Taking highly complex data and its analysis to enable the Leadership Team, Colleague Experience and Social Impact Team and wider People Team to focus on key current issues and future initiatives; using an evidence based approach to inform future strategic priorities and plans. In addition, working with the People Data Team to conduct research and data analytics that identify gaps, assess NHSBSA performance, and propose solutions that are in support of the business and that are in promotion of continued improvement to wellbeing, safeguarding and social impact practices.
