London South Bank University (LSBU) is seeking to appoint a Senior Events Officer who will be responsible for the delivery of an exciting programme of events to enhance both the corporate reputation and recruitment potential of the University, all of which supports the University’s Corporate Strategy.

Duties span the full range of event management activity, from securing dates, venues and speakers, to management of invitation groups, hosting of special guests and regularly innovating and improving our event delivery experience.

**Key Responsibilities for the Senior Events Officer**:

- Responsibility for event activity for a portfolio of events including consultation, delivery and post event evaluation
- Take a lead in ensuring events activity amplifies the University's brand and its values, using experiential marketing tactics whenever appropriate to bring it to life
- Support the management of a calendar of events, including responsibility for a series of reputation
- building and recruitment events
- Providing advice on event formats, alternating between hybrid and online events and estimating which will be most suited and have a greater impact
- Take a logístical lead on event days to ensure all services are set up and delivered to the required standard
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
- Liaise with staff across the University to arrange events, with tasks including securing dates, venues and speakers, plus effective management of invitation groups and hosting of special guests
- Advise on event content and structure to ensure the event has clear objectives and structures to encourage a more strategic approach
- Assist with preparing post event reports to measure success and provide information for future plans

**About you**

The post holder will work closely with the wider Marketing, Recruitment & Communications Division to ensure events have a positive impact on LSBU’s reputation and are in line with the Department’s objectives.

We are seeking to appoint an energetic, enthusiastic and creative events professional who has excellent communication, organisational and project management skills.

Ideal skills and experience:

- Experience of organising and coordinating events
- Experience of liaising and developing effective working relationships with internal customers, such as senior managers
- Experience of working with key stakeholders, academic staff, senior management and managers of support services across an organisation, to deliver client requirements.
- Knowledge of the Higher Education Sector

**Details about the role**

Full-time, permanent. 35 hours per week. Hybrid working with typically 3-days a week on campus, or as events require,
