**About you**

To do this role, you will have
- Good project management and time management skills - able to manage multiple projects to deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills - comfortable conversing with a variety of people in different situations
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Budget management experience (desirable)

**About the role**

The role of the Challenge Events Officer to support the Program Manager and Senior Program Manager and lead on allocated events, projects and marketing campaigns and to meet the objectives as part of the overall Challenge Events programme.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage allocated projects and marketing campaigns including delivery of the supporter journey, on the day plans and event delivery
- Manage programme of challenge events, operating against agreed schedules, budgets, targets and processes
- Manage budgets for allocated events, including forecasting, latest estimates and future year planning
- Ensure delivery of excellent customer experience throughout all aspects of work and deliver donor communications that support the evolving Macmillan brand
- Support assistants as first point of contact to supporters ensuring excellent customer service
- Liaise effectively with key internal colleagues and external suppliers and partners, ensuring best practice against agreed service level agreements, to ensure maximum efficiency
- Be responsible for ensuring assigned events and projects are managed to maximise income and meet agreed expenditure levels
- Lead on end of project, event or campaign evaluation and ensure recommendations are rolled out and any learnings shared
- Provide general support to the Senior Programme Manager and contribute to the continued development of the Challenge Events programme
- Attend events as required. This may involve weekend working and time spent away from home
- Be familiar with and adhere to all relevant Macmillan policies and procedures at all times
- Any other duties as reasonably required in line with skills, knowledge and experience to contribute to Macmillan’s wider success

We offer flexible working with your choice of home-based or hybrid working (with at least 1 day in the office a week) and our core hours are 10am - 4pm, with options to work your hours anytime between 8am - 6pm. Occasional travel to team meetings and events will be required but time off in lieu will be given for any additional hours worked. Driving licence would be beneficial but not necessary for the role.
