This is a unique opportunity to work within Gateway I based in the Treatment Centre at Nottingham University Hospitals.

Gateway I is the Outpatient department for Digestive Diseases which comprises of Gastroenterology, Colorectal, Hepatology, Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery, Urology & Dietetics.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialties for an Outpatient Co-ordinator

You will work closely with all members of the admin and nursing team as and when necessary, contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce. You will line manage our Gateway Receptionists and Outpatient Administrators and work alongside the team to provide a friendly, efficient service for patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

tasks include but not limited to:
Provide support to the Service Manager and Deputy Sister to ensure the smooth and effective running of the Gateway.

Act as a key contact for all consultants, patient and service users queries/concerns.

Manage ERS worklists, including advice and guidance and appointment slot issues.

Responsible for relevant actions required as part of schedule maintenance, including cancelling, restructuring and building of clinics, ensuring all staff adhere to template format and rules, and ensuring that all clinic/day case cancellations are dealt with in a timely manner and communicated accordingly.

Essential criteria
- To be educated to GCSE/O-level standard, including Maths & English, or equivalent work experience
- Competent Computer and Software Knowledge and skills

- Understanding of Medical Terminology

- Experience of managing and supervising the performance of others
- Experience of dealing with non routine queries and tasks

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
