Bury, United Kingdom Shaw Education Trust Full time

As a school-based Youth, Attendance and Welfare Officer, you will have the opportunity to work 1:1 with students who need additional support, helping them to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. You'll be working in a school environment, providing a safe and supportive space for students to explore their thoughts and feelings and develop their skills.

In this role you could: support and mentor young people including carers and people at risk of offending, run projects that focus on issues like health, bullying, crime or drugs, organise activities for young people, work with social workers, teachers, probation officers and the police.

**Salary: Grade 6, SET SCP 20 - 24 - £23,194 - £25,878**

**Working hours: 32.5, full time, all year**

**Contract type: 3-year Degree Apprenticeship**

The Youth, Attendance and Welfare Officer role offers the opportunity for studying a degree apprenticeship in Youth Work and the opportunity for the post holder to work as part of the Learning Support Team. The post holder will be a key member of the team by providing in and out of class support for a range of students with additional needs as required. Successful completion of the 3-year degree will lead to a Youth Worker Degree and Youth Work Association Accreditation.

Applications for the degree apprenticeship without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeship’s English and Maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3. A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative to the English qualification for those whose primary language is BSL.
