**About this role**
**Job Purpose**:
The Investment Operations Cash & Asset Operations Team is a dedicated group of professionals who ensure that all BlackRock cash & position data are accurate for critical processes including investment management, analytics, compliance, and regulatory. The teamprovides information services and solutions in support of all BlackRock and BlackRock Solutions businesses. The roles and responsibilities will include actively managing risk and exposure for BlackRock by ensuring BlackRock cash & position data is in linewith external prime record holders daily. The role will result in understanding the mechanics of the reconciliation process, exception management, troubleshooting issues, driving innovative enhancements, data analysis, maintaining documentation, assistingmanagement in leading processes, and recommending improvements to ensure efficient and accurate processes. Cash & Asset Operations plays a prominent role in the lifecycle of a trade, using BlackRock's proprietary platform Aladdin to ensure operational consistencyand client fiduciary responsibilities.
**Key responsibilities**:

- Ensure reconciliations are successfully completed and troubleshoot any discrepancies
- Demonstrate full understanding of the trade life cycle of both plain-vanilla and nuanced security types
- Be able to evaluate and research trade/income discrepancies across Aladdin tools and source bank data
- Become a risk manager by owning internal/external stakeholder relationships and driving exception reduction
- Manage and ensure delivery of central initiatives
- Effectively lead conversations around exception volume, exposure, and age
- Establish and execute remediation plans around root cause issues to ultimately reduce total stakeholder exception volume
- Regularly articulate personal impact
- Complete data analysis to establish transparency, decision drivers and efficiency
- Develop expertise around team control mechanisms and reporting
- Actively participate in all team meetings including review of key risk and process indicators
- Understand and adhere to all regulatory requirements impacting the reconciliation process
- Ability to evaluate systems, procedures and workflows to make meaningful recommendations for improvement
- Lead various efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation/ standardization efforts
- Provide level of oversight, training and mentoring to junior members of team

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree - concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics is preferred
- 3+ years of experience
- Understanding of financial instruments with an emphasis on derivative products is preferred
- Strong, effective analytical and problem solving skills
- Data Analytics skillsets preferred inclusive of coding (VBA, SQL, PYTHON) and/or understanding of data science methods & implementation
- Organized approach to ensure follow up on outstanding issues and identify appropriate action to be taken
- Attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy for all deliverables
- Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate solutions to internal and external partners
- Ability to multi-task and balance requests without losing sight of overall objectives and deadlines
- Exceptional decision-making skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior management
- Ability to work in a team environment and build positive relationships with colleagues and external contacts
- Ability to work in a dynamic, rapid changing, deadline driven environment
- Expertise in Microsoft office products with an emphasis on Excel
