Conference Project Lead

Elsevier’s conference business is an integral part of the STMJ division, which publishes the worlds leading scientific journals such as, The Lancet, Cell Press and Materials Today.

Among other activities, primary responsibilities will include:
Project Management
- Manage the project to ensure all parties are working to agreed schedule of activities
- Compile deadlines for essential activities and agree schedules with all involved parties
- Arrange regular internal and external project team meetings and produce regular reports

Budget/Financial
- Negotiate prices for catering, meeting space and supplied goods/services
- Manage, monitor and control individual conference budgets, keeping ongoing financial records
- Set up registration system, monitoring conference registrations and income
- Prepare final accounts for each conference

Logistics
- Manage venue contract deadlines
- Make all logístical arrangements for smooth running of event, including but not limited to, venue, catering and audio-visual
- Manage event on-site_- international travel required_
- Research and plan social events and activities

General
- A great communicator, with an eye for detail
- Must be able to coordinate a variety of projects running simultaneously and make instant decisions when necessary
- Able to work effectively with very senior peoplePlease read our
