Adult Weight Management Specialist Dietitian

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Northumbria Adult Weight Management Team. The post holder will work in an established and expanding Tier 3 AWM MDT including Lead AWM and Specialist Dietitians, Health and Fitness Facilitators and Psychology.
- The post will involve becoming an integral member of the Adult Weight Management team and building close working relationships with other members of the MDT including Psychologists, Lead Dietitians and Health and Exercise Facilitators.
- To act as an expert resource in a Tier 3 AWM service delivering specialist dietetics to people living with obesity in both an outpatient and group education settings, both face to face and virtually.
- To act as a specialist dietitian in your area of expertise and provide a comprehensive and effective dietetic service to the trust.
- To provide a quality Nutrition and Dietetic Service in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust.
- The post will cover a specific specialty working into Adult Weight management across sites and / or to have a site specialty role.
- There is a requirement to participate in weight management groups in the community as part of your specialty.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. To act as a specialist dietitian and provide a comprehensive and effective dietetic service to the Trust.
To provide a quality Nutrition and Dietetic Service in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust to include diverse inpatient and outpatient specialties.
The post will cover a specific specialty working in one area eg Adult Weight Management or Diabetes.
There may be a requirement for input to community hospitals and Care Homes as part of the trust and your specialty remit.
There may be a requirement to undertake home visits as part of your specialty.
There may be a requirement to participate in weight management groups in the community as part of your specialty.
This role will involve leading group education, with some evening work included, flexible and part time working will be considered.
