An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 30 hour, Assistant Navigator to join our Floating Support Team in North Staffordshire.

Assistant Navigators are core members of our teamworking closely with Advanced Social Work Practitioners and Social Workers under the supervision of the Personalisation and Social Inclusion Team Lead, Senior Navigator and Navigators. Our social care staff all work collaboratively with our Health colleagues and are valued and respected members of the Health and Social Care workforce.

You will operate within legislative frameworks, such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, along with other relevant legislation and guidance, offering support based on clearly defined National eligibility criteria to adults and carers. This post is based in the North Staffordshire area. We pride ourselves on providing a highly responsive, preventative and effective service to people of working age across the entirety of the County.

We would like to hear from you if you have an interest in working with people recovering from mental health difficulties, this will include supporting people during the transition from hospital wards back into their homes, neighbourhoods and wider communities; and you can demonstrate that you are motivated, can work as part of a team, engage with people, maintain a caseload, promote independence and value people, their families and friends as essential partners

A variety of interests and skills are essential to help inspire people who use the service to move forward in their lives; the confidence and enthusiasm to work with partners to explore opportunities in local communities, support community participation and build community capacity

The successful applicants will join a team who are committed to providing a quality service to the Adults and Carers that we work with.

You will ideally need to have a full driving licence and access to a car. This is both an interesting and challenging post for someone who has a commitment to improving outcomes for the people of Staffordshire.

Social Work Learning Academy (SWLA)

On appointment, the post holder will be auto-enrolled in the SWLA and aligned to the appropriate British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. The relevant SWLA ‘stage’ (i.e. stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker) or 3 (Advanced Social Worker) will also be agreed taking all prior Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant experience into consideration. The post holder will be required to take responsibility for their own Continuous Professional Development.
