This Yorkshire homeless charity is looking for a Volunteer Co-ordinator to join the team in their mission to provide hope for those without a voice.

Our client is an independent charity in West Yorkshire, dedicated to helping the homeless. They deliver outreach on the streets to those that are most vulnerable in Leeds, Bradford and Kirklees.

**About the Volunteer Coordinator Role**

Working with the CEO to develop the Volunteer Strategy, you will recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers and appropriately match these volunteers to opportunities within the organisation.

Volunteer Co-ordinators are also responsible for ensuring that their individual performance and reporting requirements are met. To support the Fundraising team to develop fundraising volunteers you will need to be innovative and confident in working with corporate partners and the public to help generate income as well as an excellent advocate for the organisation.

You will be the first point of contact for the charity, so politeness and professionalism are key to the staff team, public, clients, and stakeholders. A high level of detail, methodical approach and organisation will be needed to undertake the administrative tasks as well as an excellent knowledge of IT systems.

**In this role you will**:

- Match volunteers to roles and opportunities within the organisation
- Create job descriptions for specific Volunteering Roles and follow internal recruitment processes
- Take responsibility for training and supervising volunteers
- Arrange and attend networking and recruitment events
- Promote SOTS volunteering
- Attend partner, staff meeting and other key delivery partner meetings
- Provide support to the service in maintaining systems to monitor the effectiveness of volunteer interventions
- Provide support to volunteers across operational locations of Leeds, Bradford, and Kirklees
- Support the small office team in Leeds by acting as the first point of contact for Simon on the Streets
- Liaise with attendees of Simon on the Streets events as well as event suppliers
- Schedule team meetings and record team meeting minutes
- Support the running of their events, including out-of-hours work when required
- Perform general admin tasks including invoicing, stock control and ordering of equipment, with other general admin tasks as and when required
- Experience of working/volunteering in the social care environment
- Awareness of the issues homeless clients face, especially those in relation to rough sleeping and sofa surfing
- Experience maintaining professional boundaries and effective working practice across providers and partnership agencies
- Knowledge of support services that may be appropriate across Leeds, Bradford, and Kirklees
- Experience of supporting those with lived experience.
- Demonstrable experience of co-ordinating service user focus groups and experts by experience panels
- Strong engagement and development skills to ensure retention of volunteers and support to access paid employment
- Experience of supervising volunteers and providing advice and guidance.
- Good knowledge of recruitment process and supervision.
- Experience of delivering training.
- Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative
- Demonstrable skills to undertake administrative duties and manage data collection systems.
- Ability to travel as required across Leeds, Bradford, and Kirklees
