Leeds, United Kingdom University of Leeds Full time

**Learning Coordinator**:
**Salary: Grade 5 (£25,742- £29,605 p.a. pro rata depending on experience)**

This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

**Do you have a passion for engaging audiences creatively with collections? Are you an experienced communicator with diverse audiences? Do you enjoy developing and delivering public engagement activities in a heritage setting? Can you help us develop our ‘Welcoming Migrants’ programming with local refugees and migrants?**

The University of Leeds is one of the top 75 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.

Working in the University of Leeds Libraries as part of the Special Collections & Galleries team, you will deliver learning and engagement activity linked to our world-class collections, exhibitions and activities. The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery offers innovative art exhibitions and displays treasures from the University Art Collection whilst the Treasures of the Brotherton Gallery displays highlights from Special Collections. We support opportunities for researchers, students and the general public to understand and appreciate our shared historical legacy, through preserving, researching and promoting our collections.

You’ll deliver learning and engagement activities for Special Collections & Galleries, in line with the Libraries’ Forward Plan, and supporting the Libraries’ vision ‘Knowledge for All.’ Reporting to the Learning & Engagement Assistant Manager, and working alongside another Learning Coordinator, you’ll support wider University and Libraries’ strategic and cultural activities - especially in the area of civic engagement. You’ll have special responsibility for coordinating and delivering our ‘Welcoming Migrants’ programming with local refugees and migrants. This programming plays a key role in the University’s aim to become a University of Sanctuary.

The role involves planning, delivering and evaluating learning and engagement activities and events for our target audiences - especially for migrants, students, and the wider public - collaborating and co-curating with our audiences where possible. You will proactively develop and maintain excellent working relationships and partnerships, internally and externally - with diverse stakeholders, such as creative practitioners, community leaders, researchers, student interns and volunteers - to creatively engage audiences (both physical and digital) with our collections and our exhibitions. You will help manage engagement and project budgets, as well as supporting evaluation activities.

We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements. The two days worked should be between Tuesday and Friday. There will be an occasional requirement to work outside normal office hours, such as Saturdays and early evenings as required for events.

**What we offer in return**:

- 26 days holiday plus 16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) - That’s over 40 days a year
- Generous pension scheme options plus life assurance.
- Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership options at The Edge, our state-of-the-art Campus gym, with a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
- Personal Development: Access to courses run by our Organisational Development & Professional Learning team, and self-development courses including languages, Creative Writing, Wellbeing Therapies and much more.
