To assist the Facilities Manager in the provision of a high-quality estates service including; managing stores, general maintenance and servicing activities within the Hospital, Planned Preventative Maintenance and liaising with external contractors
- Checking deliveries to the Hospital, unloading, and moving items to the storage areas and general housekeeping within the stores.
- Preparing orders to maintain appropriate stock levels, stocking store cupboards, keeping accurate stock records.
- Ensuring safe storage of infectious waste, sharps, and medicines for disposal, liaising with the Waste Removal company for the collection and delivery of bins
- Ensuring the smooth operation of the washing and drying machines in the Laundry, particularly the dosing machines for the washers.
- Liaising with the Facilities Manager to maintain appropriate stocks of linens for the Hospital.
- Ensuring the safe storage of chemicals (COSHH), maintaining stocks, and issuing chemicals to the Domestic team and main kitchen.
- Participating in all estates functions of the site.
- Maintaining accurate, legible records and schedules for estates services.
- Supervising external contractors conducting work on the site, as delegated by the Facilities Manager.
- General janitorial duties including cleaning outside areas such as the bin stores, car park, footpaths, moving furniture and patient equipment.
- To undertake technical tasks as delegated by the Facilities Manager, particularly tasks for which the postholder is specifically qualified to undertake.
- To liaise with all Hospital staff to ensure the safe and effective use of equipment and services.
- To comply with the policies and procedures of the Hospital including the quality standards for the Hospital’s services and facilities.
