We have a vacancy and opportunity for additional AHP Leadership in our Planned and Preventative Care pathway to support professional leadership for Podiatry delivering the highest quality of care and best clinical outcomes.

The Planned and Preventative Care pathway encompasses Podiatry, Community Therapy, Respiratory, Physical Disability Physiotherapy Service (PDPS), Adult Speech and Language Therapy, Nutrition and Dietetics and Post COVID Rehabilitation Service.

This post will work in conjunction with the Nursing Clinical Leads, Operational Managers, Heads of Service, Head of AHPs for community services, the existing AHP Leadership Team and AHP Clinicians to improve effectiveness of patient care. Clinical and professional leadership is recognised as essential in delivering these objectives. Visible and accessible senior clinical and professional leadership supporting with clinical decision making, strategic direction and complex operational situations is vital in enabling high quality care and service delivery facilitating our teams to do their best work.

The Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) Clinical Lead will be responsible for:
Professional leadership through the development, delivery, and evaluation of Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetic, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy paramedic and podiatry services as appropriate to the pathway and services across the community services directorate depending on the post holder’s professional discipline.

Clinical leadership for all AHPs within their Integrated Locality.

Contribute to the strategic planning and delivery of therapy services.

Ensure effective multidisciplinary working and use of best practice and national and clinical legislation to support those who are Frail Elderly have a Long-Term condition or have a mental health.

Provide clear clinical leadership and oversight of the professional support and development of all AHP staff, together with the equitable allocation of resources across multiple sites within the AHP and the clinical lead’s profession specific discipline.

Advise on the implications of service change impacting on the integrated locality teams within the clinical.

Contribute to policy development and the achievement of the Directorates overall objectives and Trust.

Manage a small clinical case load.
