**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative communications professional to join our dynamic PR, Corporate Communications and External Relations Team. As Communications Officer, you will help us enhance reputation, support brand recognition, and extend the University’s reach and influence, ensuring that key audiences are regularly informed and engaged. You will develop and maintain local, regional, and national relationships with media contacts and key identified stakeholders to support reputation.
To be successful in this role, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering proactive and reactive media and PR plans and measuring and monitoring the impact of activities. You will be expected to identify potential news stories to ‘sell in’, craft press releases, opinion pieces, draft responsive media comments, provide media advice and training, create content for social media and horizon scan to identify potential opportunities/risks to reputation.
You will be joining a creative, proactive, supportive team in a busy and fast-paced office environment where no two days are the same. You’ll have a rich portfolio of projects to work on to enhance the reputation of the University and will play key role in contributing to its growth, with the opportunity to diversify and develop your skillset.
**About You**
As Communications Officer,you will be able to create high-impact and high-quality copy for a range of audiences with an impeccable eye for detail and the ability to proofread to the highest standards. You will have a proactive mindset, with experience of devising and delivering creative media and PR strategies, including an understanding and practical experience of social media and other channels to build reputation. You will also be confident in dealing with the media, with a thorough understanding of the news agenda and the ability to react appropriately to challenging media stories to manage reputation.
