An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Trauma team as a Support Secretary.

To be successful you will have demonstrably competent audio-typing skills, organizational and communication skills. You must have a flexible and professional approach to the work and enjoy the variety of communicating with a wide range of people both internal and external to the Trust. This includes providing cover for colleagues as necessary. This is a busy role and the post holder will need to be able to use their own initiative.

Recent experience of audio-typing would be an advantage.

Full or part time hours may be available. Remote working and job share considered.

**Primary duties include**:
General correspondence, reports and other communication by use of either audio typing techniques or other digital formats as directed, utilising the ability to accurately transcribe dictation, understanding the context and re-arranging as necessary.

Take and process telephone calls in an appropriate manner.

Requesting case notes as necessary.

Provide cover for other members of staff as directed by the Service Manager.

Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.

To provide secretarial and administrative support as directed and provide cover for colleagues as necessary.

Obtain hospital case notes from both within the Trust and outside Trusts

Data quality check the outcomes of clinic annotations altering PAS to reflect the relevant clinical notes in close co-operation with the medical secretary/waiting list co-ordinator.

Bring to the attention of the clinical staff all results in a timely manner and promptly act on any instructions given regarding these

Arrange hospital transport as necessary in accordance with Cornwall Transport Policy.

Ensure a good working knowledge is maintained of RTT rules and guidance.

Book follow-up appointments as required/requested in line with Trust Policy.

Support the Orthopaedic Consultants as required

Support the Fracture Clinic Administration team to complete their task in a timely manner by giving direction on work priorities and assisting with the work.
