Oncology Support Secretary

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our friendly team as a Support Secretary within Oncology at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, contributing to the efficient Oncology service for the Sunrise Centre. The main duties of the role will be to support the current secretaries with general administration duties such as typing.

Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential. You will have an appreciation of the confidential nature of the work and be able to manage a workload to meet pre-determined targets.

To provide secretarial and administrative support to the clinicians within the Sunrise Centre. It will also include word processing clinic letters, routine correspondence by the use of audio typing and copy typing techniques. A high level of discretion must be maintained at all times particularly in view of the sensitive nature of the work undertaken.

To assist in checking appointment outcomes ensuring all outcomes are recorded within the target time

Use the following software packages
- MS Word, Excel, Dragon, PAS and Maxims

To provide a consistent and high standard of patient care whilst working under pressure

Work flexibly to meet the demands of the service

Work to a high standard whilst incurring frequent interruptions and to communicate important information efficiently and effectively to a wide range of staff.
