The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our Youth Practice directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support.

We passionately believe in the importance of young people's voices being heard. Working with young people in the Black Country, we support and represent them to have their wishes and feelings heard, their rights upheld, and to be full participants in the decisions made about them. Through advocacy, we give young people skills to represent themselves which they can take forward for the rest of their lives. We support young people who can't communicate through non-instructed advocacy, to ensure that they're not excluded from decision making processes, and can enjoy their lives to the full.

- Passionate about young people's rights being upheld
- A skilled communicator with young people and the people around them
- Knowledgeable about key legislation that impacts on young people in care or involved in safeguarding processes
- Experienced in working in or with local authorities
