Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Complete Classroom Services are looking for a **Special Needs Teaching Assistant** to support a **KS1 **pupil on a **1:1 **basis.
**Role Overview**:
As a **Special Needs Teaching Assistant**, you will play a crucial role in supporting learning across all areas of the primary curriculum, with a particular focus on phonics and early reading. You will observe, assess ands record progress of your key pupil, sharing observations with teachers and families. Working under the supervision of class teachers and other support staff, you will teach specific skills to children and contribute to their overall development and care.
A **Special Needs Teaching Assistant** will be responsible for:
- Supporting students' learning in phonics, early reading, and other areas of the primary curriculum.
- Observe and assess the needs and progress of children in all aspects of their development, sharing observations with colleagues and parents.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers and other support staff to provide a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Teach specific skills to children under supervision, supporting teachers in the overall development and care of the children.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons and activities, ensuring they meet the needs of individual students.
- Provide support to students with **autism **and English as an Additional Language (**EAL**), where applicable.
The successful **Special Needs Teaching Assistant** will have:
- Graduate or NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or equivalent qualification
- Experience teaching and supporting KS1 classes, particularly in reading and phonics.
- Experience supporting students with autism and English as an Additional Language (EAL) would be desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing the best possible opportunities for children to grow and learn in a happy, safe, and stimulating environment
- Enhanced DBS and good references.

You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.
