Specialist Dementia Wellbeing Co-ordinator
3 days ago
**About The Role**:
HC-One is developing a Specialist Dementia Care Community (SDCC) at Meadow Bank care home. Sabrina House has provided care for people living with dementia for many years but following considerable investment in environmental layout and design, workforce and L&D we have exciting new opportunities available for those passionate about supporting people who are emotionally distressed by their dementia and require a specialist service to ensure their needs can be met appropriately.
Sabrina House SDCC will become a therapeutic care setting that demonstrates that quality of care and quality of life are of equal significance. It will provide a bespoke living environment embracing space and calming de-escalation rooms, along with enhanced staffing and specialist training for Colleagues in positive approaches to behaviour, psychosocial therapies, de-escalation interventions and safe restrictive practices. The therapeutic ambition will be that people will be understood as having needs to be met, rather than being defined by their condition.
Being a Specialist Dementia Wellbeing Co-ordinator is an extremely rewarding role. Having spent time getting to know Residents and their loved ones, Wellbeing Co-ordinators support residents to live their day, in their way. This can mean creating tailored activities programmes focused on stimulating the body, mind and soul, but also supporting the personalisation of Residents’ rooms to create a ‘room as your home’, helping to promote relationships and friendships, maintaining and stimulating interests and skills, and enabling residents to have meaningful moments of conversation and fun. Promoting Resident wellbeing at HC-One. We know each of our Residents need to be valued and enjoy lifestyles that are meaningful to them.
You’ll assist in keeping and developing links with the local community, as well as engaging community groups to deliver a wide range of activities that will maximise people's wellbeing, independence and social engagement.
Your organisational skills and driven mind-set mean you always get things done and make things happen. Meanwhile, your enthusiasm and creativity will inspire Colleagues to get involved in the wellbeing of residents by helping to give them the life they want, as well as the care they need.
**About The Company**:
Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals and working with people living with dementia is beneficial for this role. In return, you will enjoy access to a huge variety of benefits and services to support your physical and psychological well-being and throughout your career as a Wellbeing Co-ordinator we will invest in you, and you will enjoy additional support and benefits including:
- Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
- Free uniform
