We are looking for a committed & compassionate person to take on our new Carers Lead role our wards in Canterbury & Thanet. You will need to demonstrate a good awareness of Carers issues and needs, the ability to engage positively with people and a passion for giving Carers a voice.

We offer flexibility within this role of hybrid working and full or part time working. Please let us know in your supporting statement what working pattern you are looking for.

In KMPT, we work within the principles of the "Triangle of Care" to ensure that our Carers are empowered and included. We already have Carers champions on all of our wards and this new role would provide coordination and support to our Carer Champions to enable them to support Carers and work alongside them to improve Carer and Patient experience.

You will need to be organised, self-motivated, be able to use your initiative and work independently. This role is not based within one team, but provides support to our Wards based in Canterbury & Thanet. You will need good written & verbal communication skills and the ability to work alongside our Carer Champions to support & enable them to embed "Triangle of Care" principles on their wards. This is a developing role and offers lots of opportunities for creativity, co-production and innovative ideas.

You will be line managed by the Deputy Head of AHP Acute and work closely with the Clinical lead Occupational Therapists, Ward managers, Matrons & Carer Champions. Our wards endeavour to be person centred environments and inclusive to patients, families, friends & carers.

You may be involved in audit, service evaluation or Quality improvement projects in this role as we continually work towards excellence and improved Patient and Carer experience.

**You may be involved in**:

- developing and facilitating the Carer Champion forums for the Care group.
- supporting the Carer Champions and the wards to undertake the Carers awareness training for all staff.
- supporting the wards in completing their Triangle of Care self assessments, action plans and identifying trends.
- supporting the wards to develop Carers groups and newsletters for Carers.
