Job Introduction
Diabetes UK Northern Ireland secured funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, People and Communities Programme - to develop the “Live Well Hub Programme”. Our vital project will offer a unique combination of hybrid delivery model to support those to live well.

Main Responsibilities
Diabetes UK Northern Ireland secured funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, People and Communities Programme - to develop the “Live Well Hub Programme” The project will provide local communities the support to set up structures of diabetes support and enable us to reach those in most need, delivering support and information to people.

The Diabetes Engagement Officer will partner with organisations and groups, delivering a range of tailored engagement tools and health promotion activities, both face to face and online. To further develop community assets, the DEO will recruit and train volunteers with a vision of supporting them to establish sustainable Live Well Hubs across Northern Ireland

**Key Activities**
- To work alongside the Engaging Communities and Volunteer Manager to develop and deliver an agreed project plan that meets the requirements of the funders and local team priorities and is in line with Diabetes UK processes and policies.
- To collaborate with the diabetes community and other organisations working together to increase understanding of diabetes and supporting people to live well and connect with their peers.
- To work with colleagues to deliver high impact support through groups and community engagement supporting people to live well

Be responsible for providing high quality feedback and reporting to the programme, gathering data and insight to inform our work, and sharing learning and good practice across teams.

You will be self-motivated with excellent organisational skills, able to remain calm under pressure and balance conflicting priorities to deliver agreed plans. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skill will mean you excel in engaging, motivating and empowering a diverse group of communities, partners and groups, and in providing them with support and direction to enable them to engage in a range of opportunities. You will have sound experience of working with others to understand the needs of diverse groups, drive awareness of diabetes and increase our profile. You will have great experience of developing and delivering training and facilitation work. Strong project management experience with experience in programme monitoring and evaluation.
