Pembrokeshire County Council have an exciting opportunity to join the Education Welfare Service, working as an SSCE Cymru Schools Liaison Officer, working on a flexible part time basis 25 hours per week.

The post holder will join a well-regarded and high performing team, working with Service children and their families, schools and Local Authorities across Wales, supporting them to ensure Service children’s needs are fully met and understood.

As the SSCE Cymru Schools Liaison Officer you would be responsible for compiling evidence on the experiences of Service children in education. Collaborating with members of the SSCE Cymru network to conduct activities and produce resources that will help to support Service children throughout their education. Work with organisations to provide evidence and impact policy relevant to supporting Service children in education.

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and resourceful individual with experience of working in an education setting to support children and young people. You will need excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team and be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service.

You will work with schools and Local Authorities across Wales to promote SSCE Cymru resources and support schools in utilizing the tools available, with a focus on embedding good practice related to understanding the experiences and needs of how to effectively support Service Children in education.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed to supporting positive, solution focused outcomes for children and young people.

The role involves liaising with a variety of stakeholders to ensure Service children’s voices are heard.

You will also need to be committed to Pembrokeshire County Council’s values.

We are offering agile working arrangements with a base in County Hall, Haverfordwest Pembrokeshire. Term-Time only would also be considered.
